About Doré

The name Doré comes from the Persian tradition of gathering: a circle of people coming together in shared presence, creativity and connection. It echoes the cycles of nature and culture, of renewal, intuition and wisdom passed down through generations.

Doré is a home for Iranian art and culture in Stockholm. At our atelier, we teach the classical arts of Iran, including miniature painting (negārgari), illumination (tazhib), traditional Persian motif design and the geometry of pattern, in small groups where every student gets real attention.

On weekends, Doré Kids invites children to create art inspired by Iran’s tales, geography and history, so the next generation can discover this heritage with their own hands and imagination.

Beyond the atelier, Doré is an open, living space. We host workshops, events and retreats around Iranian art, literature and culture.

At the heart of Doré are our teachers: Iranian women artists, many of them running their own creative practices. Doré gives them a place to share their knowledge and passion.

Our mission is simple: to keep Iranian art and culture alive, to make it accessible to more people, and to pass it on to the next generation.

More than a place to learn, Doré is where art, culture and community meet.
